Cantine Riunite & CIV Soc. Agr. Coop.
The “Cantina produttori dei Colli di Castelvetro” is one of the nine grape crushing plants of “Cantine Riunite & CIV sca” group, that is a world leader in the production of Lambrusco and sparkling wines. The farm was founded in 2008 from the merger of “Cantine Riunite” of Reggio Emilia and the “Consorzio Interprovinciale Vini” (C.I.V.) of Modena, which consists of 2500 members, 9 grape crushing plants and 2 bottling plants. The “Cantina produttori dei Colli di Castelvetro” is characterized by several aspects:
- Winemakers are strongly rooted in the territory of Reggio Emilia, Modena and Bologna
- Advanced manufacturing systems
- High quality products and grapes: for years members have been adopting low environmental impact natural farming methods, that assure wine authenticity.
The Castelvetro winery is located in the heart of the “Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP” area, in a hilly region characterized by the so-called “Terre Rosse”, where more than 300 members cultivate 500 hectares of land planted with vineyard to obtain the Lambrusco Grasarossa di Castelvetro DOP of CIC&CIV and RIGHI, the Trebbiano dell’Emilia RIGHI and the must for ABTM (the famous traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena).

AWARDS:
Making wine starting from the territory: this is the philosophy by which Righi’s wines are produced. “To start from the territory” means to study the weather, the soil and the environmental impact of production. With this philosophy we have built a staff of agronomists, who have studied the territory and have identified, by means of zonation, the soils best suited to the vine’s cultivation; thanks to this philosophy we have achieved, first in the world in the wine sector, the Environmental Products Declaration (EPD) with Lambrusco Grasparossa doc Righi, with the aim of contributing concretely to environmental protection.
