Farmhouse since 2004, “La Barbera” offers the possibility to taste Modena’s traditional food. The main course is “ravioli alla Barbera”, but you can also enjoy gnocco and tigelle, local specialities served with traditional cold cuts. The farm, located on Castelvetro’s hills, is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and takes up an eleven-hectare field. Typical wines (Lambrusco Grasparossa and Trebbiano) and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar have been produced here for one century. In the last few years La Barbera started offering also a good extra virgin olive oil. In addition typical cherries are cultivated and animals are bred. La Barbera is involved in the school initiative “Fattorie Didattiche” and it is a great place for dinner, lunch and brunch, with a large meeting hall, also used for ceremonies. Here you can buy local products such wine in bottled or demijohn, must for vinegar, jams and seasonal products or extra virgin olive oil. The farm is open on Friday evening and Saturday evening, Sunday for lunch.
